Date: 18th &19th September 2021 Time: 4:00-6:30 PM(both days)Introduction of the Artform: Brush Lettering is the art of drawing the letters of the English alphabet by applying thick and thin strokes of a brush tip. The contrast of these thick and thin strokes is the essence of this popular style of brush lettering. Brush Calligraphy basics must commence from correctly holding a pen, to learning the basic strokes first. These basic strokes are important to start with, because these are the building blocks to the individual alphabets. The basic strokes also ensure that your handwriting, no matter how good or bad it is, doesn't interfere with your style of brush lettering. Objective: In this workshop, we will learn the correct way to draw these basic strokes, and then each and every lower case letter will be demonstrated through a breakdown of the basic strokes that build it. Real-time demonstration helps you observe the correct way to craft the letters. The personal attention given to each of your learning will eliminate any mistakes which are generally never brought to attention otherwise, in recorded courses or online tutorials.

Art form:Acrylic painting is an art style that is created using synthetic acrylic resins. Acrylics dry rapidly and give the visual impression of both watercolour and oil colours. The advantages of working with acrylics versus other media types is that they are fast-drying, easy to clean up, have low odor, and are heavily pigmented, meaning the colors can be very bold and vibrant.Unlike oils, you can continue to paint over the dried areas and not see any mistakes, hence it’s a very appealing medium for beginners.Date: 22nd January, SaturdayTime: 3:30- 6:00 P.M.

Cursive Writing Kids Workshop

1,200.00
Cursive writing is the style of writing in a connected manner where the letters give a cohertent flowing effect. The most widely used form of writing because of its flow and ease in writing that saves time instead of breaking the flow of writing after each letter. The actual word ‘cursive’ comes from the Middle French word ‘cursif’, which comes from the Medieval Latin word ‘cursivus’ which means ‘running'. This makes sense as your pen is literally running along the page without breaking.Learning cursive not only improves retention and comprehension, it engages the brain on a deep level as students learn to join letters in a continuous flow. It  enhances fine motor dexterity and gives children a better idea of how letters work in combination. Joined-up handwriting develops motor skills and pen control. You can also recognise letters quicker by learning cursive. When you teach cursive handwriting, you’re practising important muscle movements. These are needed for manual dexterity. Being able to complete fine motor movements will also contribute to children’s hand-eye coordination. This is the reason of introducing cursive writing to children at a young age.Good cursive hand gives a child the confidence to be able to write to express confidently and clearly. It gives a neat look to their assignments and helps in better assessment or future reference of notes. Later, in life although with the presence of keyboards, good handwriting is an impressive skill to have.

Biomorphic art is one of the three main forms in Islamic art, the others being calligraphy and geometry. Biomorphic patterns vary greatly, and their application can be found in various crafts and architectural designs. The popularity of floral motifs was because traditionally, living creatures and humans were not supposed to be depicted in Islamic art. Therefore, the plant kingdom provided subjects that were non-controversial and capable of stylization. We find the traditional floral pattern carved on the textiles, ceramics, manuscripts, on the interiors and facades of famous architectural monuments ie. Madrasa, Masajids and tombs all over the islamic lands. However in Persia and central Asia the floral designs reached its Zenith especially in the Mughal era. These floral motifs are inspired by nature and drawn with perfection using simples geometry with the help of compass and ruler.
