Knife Painting Workshop

Art form:A palette knife is a blunt tool used for mixing or applying paint, with a flexible steel blade. It is primarily used for applying paint to the canvas, mixing paint colors, adding texture to the painted surface with movement of the hands. Mastering this skill allows us to give a different look under different light to the painting. Adding dimension to the paintings makes it interesting, engaging and helps us achieve different illusions to enhance the artwork.Duration of the workshop 2.5 hours

Learn the FUNDAMENTALS of Photography

“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” Photography is a skill that has garnered a lot of attention in the times we live in because of the opportunities it provides and the impact it carves in minds. In this workshop expand your understanding of the subject and learn the basics with the master photographer. Shk Taha B. Raja has travelled the most exotic places and learnt from a rich experience of expeditions. For this workshop he will be simplifying thefollowing topics: -Equipment -Exposure -Composition -Basics of Shutter, Aperture and ISO among other photography tips. Participants get a chance to interact, get feedback and learn in real-time by the Internationally acclaimed photographer. This is a 2 hours workshop is via Zoom.Kindly Note: 1. This workshop will be held on Zoom on the mentioned IST time 2. The pictures shared are original work of the artist and are shared for the reference of this workshop. 3. Learning Khat-al-Naskh (Intermediate level)

Introduction: Naskh is a smaller, round script of Islamic calligraphy. Naskh is one of the first scripts of Islamic calligraphy to develop, commonly used in writing administrative documents and for transcribing books, including the Qur’an, because of its easy legibility.Objective: In this 2 days workshop we will learn the art from scratch to gain valuable insights to write a whole passage by yourself.Instructor: Shk Moiz Janab Nagpurwala, a revered Arabic Calligraphy artist and teacher who has been working on esteemed Calligraphy projects since years. Master class on drawing Fatimid Shubbaks

Islamic geometric patterns are one of the major forms of Islamic ornamentation that are often built on combinations of repeated triangles, squares and circles, which may be overlapped and interlaced, to form intricate and complex patterns.These may constitute the entire decoration, may form a framework for floral or calligraphic embellishments, or may retreat into the background around other motifs.The Fatimid dynasty developed a distinctive visual language, prominently displaying their doctrines. The role and significance of the Fatimid Imams were reflected in their architecture and artistic products. Hence considered the golden era of Islamic Art.Workshop Objective: -Understand the geometry of Fatimid Shubbaks. -Know the symbolism and the terminology of geometry in Fatimid art and architecture. -In this workshop you will be able to draw from scratch some Fatimid Shubbak/ lattice/ grill pattern belonging to 6 fold geometric. The underlying laying grid and its geometric construction. -Understand the use of similar patterns with different variations throughout the Fatimid Art You will also learn the role of grids in Islamic geometric design as it an essential part which will be broken down in the workshop. -By the end of this session you will be able to understand how Islamic geometric patterns are constructed. - At the end of the workshop you will have a neatly drafted pattern handmade by you with live guidance and feedback from the instructor.Artist Introduction: Alefiya is a Traditional Islamic Artist. She holds a degree in fine arts and post graduation diploma in traditional Islamic arts securing 1st position in both programs. A participant in multiple international exhibitions and workshops she finds sharing her knowledge of Islamic Art a fuel for her creativity. Paper Sculpting for Kids

Introducing our next workshop for kids that engages their minds and attention span. It helps them in organising, focussing and looking at the end result while trusting the process. Paper Sculpting is the method to create 3D art. Using the modelling tools, participants will learn various techniques to create 3D flowers. These flowers help in strengthening their hand-eye coordination, increases their attention span and inculcates the quality of patience. Participants will start by using watercolours to paint the flowers, they will then mould the paper as demonstrated live. After gaining a rough shape they will cut these flowers with the help of adult supervision. These flowers will be then set on a background prepared by the kids using their creative imagination.

Persian Illumination Workshop

The art form showcases the craftsmanship and creativity of the artists while reflecting the spiritual and aesthetic values of Persian culture. In recent years, tezhip has experienced a revival and gained international recognition as a valuable art form. Contemporary artists continue to practice tezhip, exploring new materials and techniques to innovate within the tradition. Tezhip's captivating beauty and intricate details continue to enchant viewers, making it an enduring symbol of Persian art and aesthetics. Artist Introduction: Art was never created in isolation, this is Mariyah’s motto, the artist behind the page Mariyah Farooqui art.Finding beauty in traditional arts, she has created a niche wherein she assimilates various traditional art forms to create contemporary works of art. She is an avid student and practitioner of Persian Illumination, Kirigami, Sacred geometry and Arabic Calligraphy. She is self taught as well as has had the opportunity to study under various masters across the world.Her art draws on the spiritual and aesthetic aspects of art. This interconnection, a creative correspondence between humanity and divinity, helps her combine various art forms together to create and express traditional art in a contemporary way that is centered around balance and symmetry and is both unique and relatable.

We want to help you understand the process of producing spectacular artwork for an Art exhibition or show and unpack the secrets on what it takes for your art to be considered for curation. Although it DOES NOT guarantee your selection for the exhibition, it could be a great opportunity to learn how Artists prepare for exhibitions and help you for future shows!This programme will help you approach your ideas with a pair of fresh eyes, understand the Creative process better, open up your imagination, and think differently about the same subjects!Note: These sessions require time for assignments and are for Artists who are serious about taking their practice to another level!Slide 2:

Sculpture Painting

Introduction Sculptures are one of the oldest visual art forms in existence. Sculpture painting is done by using various colorful binded paste and strategically placing it on the canvas to create a 3 dimensional piece of art.Sculpture painting is a Russian Art created using tinted plasters. In this form of painting, different sizes of palette knives are used with plasters of different colours to create various motifs. The common motifs are flowers. Learning to wield a palette knife smoothly on the coloured plaster to create a beautifully shaped painting is the crux of this art form.Artist : This workshop will be conducted by Ummehani Kapadia ( A visual artist, graphic designer and a sculpture painting artist based in Mumbai who has completed her studies in Cairo, Egypt in the faculty of Arts and Design and now has been practicing art since several years.In this 5 hour workshop you will learn the basic techniques of sculpture painting, the formation of each petal in a proper way. At the end of the session the participants will sculpt a beautiful single rose and some leaves to create a lovely elegant frame that can be used as a decorative piece.Date: 4th and 5th December 2021 Time: 2:30-5:30 PM (Saturday) 3:00-5:00 PM (Sunday)

Highly used in tazyeen, stage backdrops, logos, wedding calligraphy and book titles.Artist Introduction: The artist- Taher Shabbir bhai Jamali, an Arabic Calligraphy Artist from Bangalore, has been practising calligraphy since the past 6 years, he has learnt his basics from the master calligrapers of AlJamea tus Saifiyah. He enjoys composing innovative artworks in different shapes and formats. His distinctive style is working with florals to add more character to the calligraphy

Watercolour Bird Painting

Artist and Art: Fatima ben, an artist from Houston, started her journey with art young. She has been an art teacher who enjoyed painting murals and teching aides.After exploring a variety of medium, she found her niche in Watercolor. The loose qualities of watercolors, the natural, inherent luminescence caused by the transparency of the medium on white paper and the unexpected results are what makes her so drawn to the medium.Objective of the workshop: Learn to paint this beautiful Watercolour bird from scratch.
